Contemporary B&W – Blake Sinclair
August 28th, 2009 by blake sinclairContemporary B&W- Tamar Levine
August 28th, 2009 by tamarI experimented with black and white and also color, plus used my Holga a bit. It was really fun to experiment with both digital and film- something I haven’t done for awhile. Some more of the photos from the shoot are on my photo blog.
Contemporary B&W
August 27th, 2009 by tamarTitle: Contemporary B&W
Assigner: J.Wesley Brown
Description: I’m sure some of you dabble in the desaturation but in the wake of a few recent exhibitions and writings, I’m starting to think that there may be a new little (or big) movement of B&W photography but done in a contemporary way that takes hold. Let’s give it a shot. I’m not talking about just desaturating images but rather trying to make B&W images that belong in 2009 (or 2010!). This isn’t your high school darkroom assignment. Shoot with contemporary B&W in mind.

Assigner: Alan
Description: A solstice is an astronomical event that happens twice each year, when the tilt of the Earth’s axis is most inclined toward or away from the Sun, causing the Sun’s apparent position in the sky to reach its northernmost or southernmost extreme. It is also referred to as the Summer Solstice, which is June 21st, the longest day of the year. Whether you interpret it as the ‘Summer solstice’ or as an ‘astronomical event that happens twice a year’ is up to you!
