I am so excited to be able to share that I am a winner of the ADC Young Guns competition. There will be a gallery show in New York with an opening on October 13th. I will be there so if you come please say “hi”! It should be really fun.

I will also be speaking at the Apple Store in Santa Monica on November 14th, as a part of the ADC Young Guns series. More info can be found by clicking here.

When I was little my uncle’s girlfriend owned a farm in Upstate New York. My favorite animals were pigs, and every time we drove up to the farm I would pet and play with this one particular pig. Well one day I searched and searched and this particular pig was nowhere to be found. Later on, we were sitting at the dinner table, and I asked my uncle’s girlfriend where my favorite pig went. She looked down at my plate and said, “You’re eating him”.

I brought my 5D on my road trip from Seattle to Tahoe with every intention of using it a TON. However, I found myself using my iPhone a lot more! There are many great apps, including Camera +, which has a cross-processing option. I ended up using this for my assignment (I also shot with my Holga for this assignment but the film won’t be processed until next week).

For my self-portrait I used Jennie Warren’s photography as inspiration. She always uses really fun colors and interesting angles, sometimes getting very close to the subject. This was a verrrry challenging assignment for me!

Colin and Tamar will show work in the group exhibit entitled Branded Art: An Art Exhibition Benefiting The Witness to a Dream Foundation. Macy Gray will be DJing, and some amazing artists will be showing (including Mark Ryden, Shepard Fairey, Alan Aldridge..). If you are in the Los Angeles area please come on by. It will be tons of fun and is for a really great cause! Please see below for the flyer.

This is Melissa and her boyfriend Mitchell. They live in a very small RV. They are characters on Hollywood Boulevard but are forced to move to Las Vegas because Hollywood no longer allows characters to walk the strip. I love photographing Melissa and am sad to see her go! This is the first time I photographed her inside her house.
