Renaissance – Blake Sinclair

My favorite aspect of Renaissance art is the development of linear perspective. It all comes down to the Western worlds worship of a single God, therefore there must be only 1 point of perspective. So I photographed buildings in a flat way, trying to disassociate the images from only 1 point of perspective.

I think you really achieved what you were going for. And your lines are insanely straight! What camera/film did you use? Did you straighten the photos at all in post or was it shot that way? Good job!

Thanks! They’re digital, from my g10. a little straightening went into them, but not much. i shot zoomed in a bit to minimize the lens distortion, and really flatten the perspective. And I added a little bit of grain.

    Is this Stuy town?

It’s not. Its just north of the Manhattan Bridge. Not sure what that area is considered, but it’s right near Chinatown.
