I was excited to play with long exposure and incandescent lighting for this assignment. I wanted to create a portrait with the feel of something Vermeer might paint.

Chris! I love this. The color palette is gorgeous! Would you mind sharing how you did this? What was your exposure? How did you light it? And what camera did you use?

Love the styling on this, and the background. All around, a really strong portrait. What was the lighting situation? Those big 500w incandescent bulbs?

HI!
Thanks.
I shot this using an octabox with just the modeling light on. I took the opportunity to shoot this right after a look book shoot, so I had the octa with me.
It was shot with my 5D using a 50mm at 2.8 with an exposure of, I believe, 1/30th, OR 1/15th.
The background, I painted – if anyone needs a grey modeled background – its HUGE.

OH – and i just fiddled with the saturation, contrast and helped a little with the natural vignetting.
