Title: Street Photography
Assigner: Ryan
Description: Has to be a photo shot in a public place..could be a grab shot or a formal portrait, but some sort of human in the photo that you didn’t know beforehand, and maybe a little context. could be as simple as a the location, or maybe the person’s name if you happen to want to ask them, or if you get into a conversation with them, maybe the story they told you, as much or as little as you want.
Jennifer Becker
“Avery”
This is Avery. He is 14 years old and from Pennsylvania. He plays football and skateboards. I met him over Memorial Weekend at the house I was staying it. I was channeling Larry Clark for this shot.
Tamar Levine
“Vegas”
I shot these photos in Vegas this past weekend. Unfortunately I didn’t have as much time as I would have liked but I did find some nice ladies right before I had to head back to LA at the Palms Casino, which is where I was staying. I would love to go back to Vegas soon when I have more time and take more photos of the casino regulars. There are some real characters!
Blake Sinclair
“DJ”
This guy was the DJ at a bar in West Palm Beach, Florida. I asked to take his picture, and he excitedly obliged. After, he let me know he’s wearing his “funny hat”.
Jennie Warren
“Audrey”
I met Audrey when I was on a walk around my neighborhood. She was walking slowing down the street and I was checking her and her outfit out from afar. I went up to her and told her I really liked her look and her chucks. She smiled and then I asked if I could take her portrait. She hesitated but I told her again she looked HOT so she obliged. We walked to her guest home and shot a nice portrait of her in front of the home. I will be back next week to give her a 5×7.

“Bill and the Red Line”
Ok, so I was on the bicycle and almost rode past this scene except the reason I came up with this assignment was I always regret passing up something like this without documenting it so i stop and find out that Bill here has took it upon himself to use this public land to plant his own personal garden and further inspection tells me that those cement blocks in the background were foundations for an old Los Angeles public transit line known as the Red Line. Local children are hanging out watching Bill water his plants and apparently the owner of the gas station adjacent to this empty lot grows his own vegetables here because he can’t find this exact product at markets in LA.

Jennie I LOVE yours!!! That woman has soul. Blake- I am pissed I didn’t have my camera when we were at that bar. It was out of control. Ryan- really pretty colors. I can’t wait to shoot this assignment this weekend!

Jenn- love it. I love the eyes and how he is looking at you. Also like how it looks sort of like an old photo.
